the first time i read this, about two years ago, i somehow didn't check the dates and realize that it was written before Requiem. Up until now i was under the impression that notMulder was actually just a slightly skewed description of doggett. oops. I agree with you both, abduction was bound to happen eventually, but this particular fic deals with the emotional impact of mulder's abduction in a way that is particularly reminiscent of Requiem.
