Story 194: "Oak Leaves in October" by Vehemently

And now for something completely different. I’ve been trying to think of how best to describe this fic without getting immediately stuck on the one thing that sets it glaringly apart from 99% of the fanfic I will ever rec here. But I can’t seem to get past this one particular detail, so I’m just going to say it plainly: this is Scully/Krycek fic - in deed if not in sentiment.

It’s also an intriguing AU, a kind of alternate S6 I would say, involving a missing Mulder, a shell shocked Scully, and a Krycek who has human susceptibility beneath that rodent exterior. I understand if Scully/Krycek is really not your thing, it’s not my thing either. But there is something eerie and sensual about this fic that has always fascinated me. Maybe you’ll like it, maybe you’ll hate it, but it’s not a long read, so why not try a week’s worth of something different?
