I love time travel stories and "Ever After" is one of my all-time favorites. This fic has everything: Mulder/Scully UST, strong original characters, a suspenseful plot, and a memorable X-File. But why take my word for it when you can read an excerpt...

It's nearly Halloween and [livejournal.com profile] amyhit has been hard at work searching for some holiday fic for your enjoyment. "Other Night" by Punk is well-written, light-hearted genfic with a side of UST. Read it fast because [livejournal.com profile] amyhit is going to post another Halloween story in few days time, something with a little more substance. Life is short and so is this story; let's enjoy Punk's not-quite-a-Mulder-and-Scully-romance.

There is still time to go read and comment on "Fathoms Five."

"Blue Patches" is a post-Requiem short story, a vignette, really, so I hesitate to say much about it for fear of giving away the entire plot. Her summary: Mulder, returned. Thanks again to lurker "Tiger Janet" for the nomination. I like how it creates a mood of tension and uncertainty, and sustains it all the way to the ending.

Please give feedback to the author, and then let us know how you liked the story. Suggestions for next time can be made at the nomination post.

In contrast to yesterday's story, today we have "In the Usual Way (Inches a Year)" by Sarken. It's very short, rated G, and gives a lot of thought to drugstore haircolor.

Leave Sarken a comment, leave us a comment, and tell us what you want to read next time.

Some of you will have seen the movie already, some of you won't. Here, we are still spoiler-free and busy discussing the ways that it could have been.

Today we have a spare but elegant apocalyptic vignette...
