Was it a fun change of pace or an unwelcome diversion?
I loved it!
I don't see the slightest resemblance to "Deliverance," which writer Frank Spotnitz claimed was his inspiration.
I've never seen it, so I wouldn't know.
See what I mean? Bad things always happen in the woods!
Do companies really put employees through those types of ridiculous team building exercises? I've been out of work for 7 years now, so I wouldn't know. I never had them when I used to work. Good thing, too. I'd react just like Mulder: "Kill me now." I can't imagine wasting my time with playing games, knowing that I had actual WORK to do!
To me, this is one of the less convincing MOTW eps. Maybe it's the effects or something, but it wasn't remotely creepy to me.
Is it just me or was that Jeff guy annoying? If he's used to being out in the woods, wouldn't he have to be a little less panic-prone? Sheesh, what a whiner.
I loved 'Joy to the World' long before this ep! It also reminds me of a now-former friend's XF-themed wedding. It was the first time a bunch of fans met, after knowing each other in an online group for several years. It was my first time meeting online strangers in that way. My parents thought I was nuts. But we all made it back alive and had a fantastic time!
Not a brilliant ep, but enjoyable.
Plus, Mulder in that gray turtleneck! Too bad it got ruined.
In the woods, no one can hear you scream...
