This Scully POV vignette takes off immediately after the end of "The Truth." All they have now is a black SUV, the clothes on their backs, and each other.

Geez no comments on this? I rather liked it. There certainly seems to be some kind of psychic connection happening here. And was that a reference to Finnegan's Wake at the end there, or...?

I've never read "Finnegan's Wake." But Google tells me that "Finnegan Begin Again" is the name of an HBO movie, a romantic comedy, from 1985. That title might have some reference to Joyce's opus.

I like the story. It's a small moment, but nicely crafted. You probably picked up on the theme here. All of these stories take place in between "The Truth" and "I Want to Believe."

Oh yeah I was aware of the theme. It's a fun journey going back over this stuff. And you are right, some of it was quite good, and almost all was better than what CC came up with. That one about Marita... Whew!!

Bardmaid was a fine, fine writer. I wish she had been less interested in Krycek, who is my least favorite character. I've never read her novels because of that fixation. I shouldn't say that, I started one. I didn't get very far before I could tell that her conception of the character and mine were miles apart. I can read a short story centered around Krycek but not a novel.
